Pre-Natal Class=BORING!!!

So Bob and I started our prenatal classes a couple of weeks ago and so far we have learned absolutely nothing! It is like reliving high school health class where everyone starts snickering the moment the instructor says words like: perineum, anus, vagina, or penis. It's ridiculous, yet I laugh too! Our instructor is an older lady...I would say in her late 50s early 60s and she is VERY monotone! Makes for a long 2 hours! Plus the chairs they give pregnant women to sit in are HORRIBLE! Can we say "back support" people! COME ON! We get a break about half way through but sometimes that just doesn't cut it. Next week should be interesting though...lamaze...we shall see...

Miscellaneous

Ok, seriously...be thankful you don't have to sit by people with extra gastricjuices that brew all day and have no shame of letting them rip with people in ear shot...maybe she is just used to my co-worker's deafness...HELLO!! GROSS!!!
************************************

So we went to my parents house this weekend for a bit of a family reunion...it was a blast and I forgot how much I missed outdoor cooking and camp fires! We all ate so much food it wasn't even funny! We all got to meet my Aunt Mendy's "in-laws" from Australia and they were the most delightful couple. I think they enjoyed the cookout too!

I also got to pick pecans, haven't done that in years. They are just starting to fall now from my parents trees and I had fun hunting for them in the grass. Bob got to go 4-wheelin' on my Aunt and Uncles toy and he had a blast too! It was an eventful weekend and the weather was perfect too!

************************************
My cousin, Stacy, is having a hard time with her hubby being deployed. This is his second go-round to the middle East and this time he will be gone in total for about a year and a half! They have a 2 1/2 year old little girl and she is pregnant with their 2nd child and due in December. She is starting to feel the pains of separation and having to deal with being a single mother yet again and having to deliver her child without her husband anywhere near! He won't get to meet his new baby until it is over a year old if my calculations are correct. I do not envy her but I think of her often and hope she is doing well. I love you Stacy! Hang in there!

Mandy, you still alive? You haven't posted a blog since September 30?! Miss your funnies girl!

Dry Mouth/Bad Breath Syndrome

AKA: halitosis...Seriously people there is help out there! Find it! Remember the "walking farting lady" I referred to in one of my previous posts? Well, she also has this horrible syndrome to boot! Being anywhere within earshot is dreadful...the constant smacking of her tongue against the roof of her dry mouth is enough to make you want to punch something...it's like nails on a chalk board...it gives me the chivels just thinking about it...even worse if you are in smelling shot...her breath is worse than taking a big ol' whiff of cow manure! GROSS!!! Ok, I'm done venting...

Weekend Work

So this past weekend Bob decided to take on the HUGE challenge of building a retaining wall in our front yard by our stairs...he got started and it is LOOKING AWESOME...I can't wait to show you all pictures, but he is at a stopping point right now b/c our stairs have a crack in them and we are waiting on the builder to come and look at them before we go any further otherwise we will just be ripping the wall right back out. After this is all done (stairs and wall) we will then proceed to work on our grass...as it is DEAD! Our neighbors must really love us. Oh well, we are trying.

*****************************
I am looking forward to this weekend at my parents house. Bob hasn't even been to my parents house since we have been back...he has seen my folks, but just hasn't been to the house! Can you believe that?! We have just had a crazy summer...too many weddings! But I am looking forward to the cookout like no one else can imagine...I have been craving a weenie roast since I left the Midwest!!! Cast Iron skillet cooking here I come! I am also thrilled to see my Aunt Mendy and Uncle Jim and his parents. YEAH! Fun for me!!! :-) HURRY UP FRIDAY! I think Saturday is the craft festival so I am also looking forward to going to that too!
*****************************
On the baby note, Decovin is a kicking away and just have a grand ol' time in my belly! :-) I had a check up last Thursday and his heart rate was good and so was everything else...I have one more visit in 4 weeks and then it goes to every 2 weeks until 36 weeks...I am getting excited. Bob and I start a PreNatal Class tomorrow that last for 6 weeks...I am also looking forward to it, but I don't think Bob is...LOL!

Mail Box go boom...

So I get a call from my neighbor today during work hours...she proceeds to tell me that some little old lady in a JAGUAR (go figure!) hit our mail box today and flipped it all around and it is all out of whack...she got the nice little old lady's phone number and she also gave the nice little old lady my number. The nice little old lady called me also at work and left me a voice mail apologizing profusely and offering to pay for the "fixing" of the post that is now mangled below ground...Poor Bob...just one more thing to add to his "Honey Do" list...**Sigh**

Fetal Brain Drain in action!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I forgot to mention this already!!! Bob finally felt Decovin kick on Monday night during football...I think he is going to be a sports fan! Bob was like "Weird, I can't tell if that's you or him!" I told him it was Decovin cuz I can't make my stomach do that normally...HELLO! I was excited he got to feel him though! WHOO HOO! GO DADDY!

How pregnant am I?

So my mom and I got into a discussion last night about how pregnant I was...I told her I was just about 24 weeks along and she was like...no you are only 5 months along...it took us awhile to figure out that some months only have 4 weeks and other have 5...plus you should really count weeks b/c it is more accurate and the normal gestation period is 40 weeks long...SOOO...I'll leave it up to you to calculate how pregnant I am...lol! I am tired just thinking about it...

"Excel Happy"

My boss is what I call "Excel Happy", he thinks that everything should be made into an Excel spreadsheet. Thank goodness he is easily convinced that it is not necessary usually, but I am getting pretty handy with Excel anyway! **sigh**

*************************
Mandy, to answer your question in your comment, yes, I made the poncho in the picture. :)
************************
I found myself the other day using the word "doo-hickey" to replace the actual word of the item I was referring to. This could be blamed on Fetal Brain Drain again but I think mostly I just didn't know the actual name for the item. Hmmm...something to ponder...where do we get these made up words anyway?! :-)

Success!

So all my co-workers LOVED my pumpkin roll and one lady was like...we needed a pregnant lady to be around us a long time ago! haha! One guy even said..."YOU MADE THIS?! Wow, it looks like something you would buy..." He loved it too!

**********************

Oh and I finished my poncho that I have been working on just in time for Fall also, however, I don't think I will be using it anytime soon thanks to Hell's Kitchen outside! Geesh! :-( It is pretty though! :-) I love it!

Baking while preggers

So tonight I decided I would be Suzy Homemaker and bake a Pumpkin Roll for my co-workers to enjoy on our first official day of Fall tomorrow. Well, let me tell you...I for sure need to invest in an apron b/c when I got done, I had a combination of flour and powdered sugar in a line across the biggest part of my belly...**sigh** And to think...it is only going to get worse...LOVELY!

He moved!

So, I am now currently and actively feeling Decovin move on a regular basis. It is weird and cool at the same time. I tried to see if Bob could feel him kick, but his little legs aren't strong enough for daddy to feel yet. I know it will be soon as he is an active little thing...let me tell ya! :-)

*************
We got our first official gift from our registry today from our friends in San Diego, Jerusha and Eli Bookhamer. They got us our crib mobile! It is so cute! Thanks guys...we love it! :-)
**************
This weekend, I also received my first official belly talk...my best friend Crystal had the best time rubbing my belly and getting all close and personal with it all the while, cooing and cawing to Decovin...I think he liked it...you tell me?

Wedding #6

Well, I survived our last wedding of the season. My best friend, Kim Gibson (now Kim Grooms) was married on 09/17/05 to Justin Grooms. It was a beautiful ceremony and I am so happy for them! I was a bridesmaid and I have included a picture of the beautiful bride and myself...

Progression Shots...

Here I am at 22 weeks...

The Pooch...

So today while I was laying down on my bed, I looked down at my stomach and decided to try the old "suck it in" routine to see how flat I could get my stomach. Only the top half of my stomach concaved and left a pooch at the bottom...this really creeped me out at first...I was thinking, "Whoa! There really IS a baby in there!" And for the first time since I found out I was pregnant, I actually felt pregnant. You'd think a sonogram would convince a person, but for me, it was the pooch! :-)

The Midwest prevails again...

I have noticed that a lot of people when emailing at work either choose not to proofread before they send an email or do not understand the meaning of proofread...for example, this is a direct email I received the other day from a co-worker (disregard work lingo, just focus on the grammar):

"With looking in BAAN it don't show anything on this order # ever shipping exceptfreight."

If you are reading this and going, WOW...then I am not alone!

***********************
Let me first preface this next story with this: I work with an abundance of older people almost elderly...so today, I am sitting in my cubicle minding my own business when one of the older ladies walks by my cube to get to the printer and on her quest to retrieve her freshly printed documents out it comes...that's right ladies and gentlemen--she farted and it wasn't a quiet one either...oh no...just let it rip, loud and proud and with every step she took more and more kept leaking out! Can I tell you how hard it was for me to not burst out into laughter right there! It makes my side hurt just thinking about it!

Absentmindedness is NOT amusing

So today, my best friend Crystal calls me and we chatted for about 30 minutes or so about this and that. She had called to thank me for a "thinking of you" card I had sent her and how she really appreciated it b/c she was sick that week and it really cheered her up. So here I am thinking, YEAH, I did good! Then she kindly and subtly mentions that her birthday sucked this year b/c she had to spend it at work ALL day! I was like..."NO WAY DID I MISS YOUR BIRTHDAY AGAIN!" This is not fetal drain brain syndrome people...this is an every year event that poor Kim and Crystal have to go through...and most of my family as well--what can I say...I am REALLY bad with birthdays...someone HELP ME PLEASE!!!

To Crystal--Happy Belated 27th Birthday, I love you-Please forgive me...AGAIN!
To Kim--In case I forget next month, Happy early 27th birthday, I love you--

Ok, I think my bases are semi-covered...GEESH...what am I gonna do with myself?!

Baby Border

We figured out how to put up the border in our baby's room without killing each other! It was a miracle! HAHA! I think it turned out great...see for yourselves! This is the theme we chose from Babies "R" Us, it is called Malawi.

Family Reunion

Labor Day Weekend turned out to be eventful. We went to Holts Summit, MO to visit family that we had not seen in 4 years! It was fun and we got to spend time with other family members that are seen more frequently but not as much as I would like. My cousin, Stacy, is pregnant too and it is fun to be able to share the trials and tribulations of pregnancy together. She is due in December (5 weeks ahead of me) and we did some fun comparison shots...I hope you enjoy!

Ahhh...the Midwest!

I have forgotten how "country" the Midwest truly is since I haven't lived here in 5+ years. I noticed myself snickering quietly at work the other day in my cube when I overheard some of my co-workers talking. The topic of conversation you might ask? Chickens! Not for dinner...the real live ones! There was mention of how recently coyotes had eaten some of his chickens (so, I guess in this case it would be dinner for the coyote) and so he didn't have any eggs to bring to anyone...Now that's country! I love the Midwest! :-)
