So the evening started fantastic! The boys had made me a bday cake and then I headed out for my bday outing with the girls! About 30 minutes into the "party"...I get a call from Bob saying I needed to come home now, that Camden had fallen off his cozy coupe car and hit his head on our rock fireplace...so I left my party, arrived home, and we loaded up everybody and went to the ER.

Camden was completely happy and acting normal and kept saying: "I'm ok mommy"...well the doctor took a look and said it needed a staple...just one. :-) They said there was no need to numb him as it was just one staple and would be done in just a second...and he wasn't kidding. It was SUPER FAST! He only cried for a second and then the doctor said to him: "I'll tell Santa you were a really big boy!" to which Camden replied, with a quivering chin: "ooookaaay"....it was really sweet and then we headed back home. I dropped off the boys and headed back to my party!
It was an eventful evening for sure! Camden slept wonderfully and even woke up in an AWESOME mood! He's such a big boy! Anyway, now he has a "story" to tell the grandkids! LOL!

Poor baby!! .. Glad he did well..I am shocked that you got in and out of the ER fast enough to get back to your party!! Hope you had a great Birthday!!
No concussion? Great. He is a tough guy.
It should be about done now and the staple can come out?? How do they do that. It is a conundrum for me to figure it out - a giant staple remover?
Mel, We have a SMALL hospital and it was a SLOW night! In and out in 45 minutes flat! :-) No concussion...minimal tears AFTER the initial hit...
Staple came out today. Amanda actually took it out with a handy dandy "staple remover"...it kind of "crimps" it in the middle and just popped out without even a flinch from Cammer! He is AWESOME! :-)
